Per Capita Food Consumption in the Philippines

The sixth module of the PSA, Agricultural Indicators System; Food Consumption and Nutrition, provides information on per capita production, per capita consumption and per capita calories, proteins and fats supply of selected major agricultural commodities.

2003 Fish Consumption in the Philippines

In 2003 the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations quoted a figure of 28.8 kgs of Fish in the Philippines for direct human consumption per year.

The Philippine unit of Currency is the Piso

Prior to 1967 the Philippine unit of Currency was called the Peso, but this was changed to the Filipino language version, the Piso, in 1967

The new one-piso coins were put in circulation, in 1967, to replace the old one-peso notes. In 1969 the new Pilipino series of notes came out in denominations 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100.

These top 5 countries were followed by: Canada (6), UK (7), Singapore (8), Spain (9) and Malaysia (10).

Korea still positioned itself as the biggest contributor of visitor earnings for the country with Php 4.055 billion, overtaking the United States’ Php 3.699 billion. Japan placed 3rd with Php1.060 billion while Australia (Php 0.916 billion), and China (Php 0.650 Billion) provided the 4th and 5th biggest visitor receipt.

Australia, Canada and UK are almost identical in spending by these figures. But how the figures are obtained is curious.

Average Daily Expenditure (ADE) of international visitors for the month of May 2015 was recorded at Php 4,583.29 while Average Length of Stay (ALoS) for the same month registered 10.11 nights.

Population of the Philippines in 2010 and 1980

The population in the Philippines has almost doubled during they last 30 years, between 1980 and 2010, but the increase has not been an even spread across the country. The Calabarzon region has seen the largest increase, with a change from 4.6 million to 12.6 million population, a 174% increase. The region with the smallest  rise was Eastern Visayas with a change from 2.8 million population up to 4.1 million, a rise of just 47%.

It is estimated that the next 30 years, from 2010 to 2040, will show an increase from 92.3 million to about 141 million or about a 52% increase. This is a much slower rate of population growth than the last 30 years.  IF the population grows at the SAME rate as 1980 to 2010, then the population of the Philippines would reach 177 million by 2040.

The population of Angeles City, based on the 2010 Census result is 326,336 persons as of May 1, 2010
This is a rise of 58,548 persons compared to the 267,788 population from the 2010 Census.

The 2010 census states that 50.6% of Angeles City Residents were Female with 49.4% being Male

This results in about:

161,210 Males

This is a similar ratio to the 2000 Census result.

Balibago has the largest population of all the Barangays of Angeles City.
