The population in the Philippines has almost doubled during they last 30 years, between 1980 and 2010, but the increase has not been an even spread across the country. The Calabarzon region has seen the largest increase, with a change from 4.6 million to 12.6 million population, a 174% increase. It is estimated that the next 30 years, from 2010 to 2040, will show an increase from 92.3 million to about 141 million or about a 52% increase. This is a much slower rate of population growth than the last 30 years.  IF the population grows at the SAME rate as 1980 to 2010, then the population of the Philippines would reach 177 million by 2040.
