Transfer Smart Prepaid Load to another Phone

If buying a load for your mobile phone is not an easy option when you need it, you can always ask a friend to help by giving you some of their load.

There is a charge for this of just 1 peso, but it is often easy and worth it.

The person transferring the load could be standing right next to you or a thousand mile away.

There are at least two ways to transfer a mobile phone load between two Smart numbers.

ONE:

You send a text message with the number of the recipient and the amount you wish to transfer.

Send the text message to number: 808

The message, to send 50 pesos to number 0999 123 4567 would be: 09991234567 50

Just put the space between the recipients number and the amount being transferred.

You will then get a text message back telling you to text the word YES back. Do that, and the transfer will go through, and you will be charged 1 peso.

TWO:

Use the Smart Sim Toolkit menu:

Select the following options in order:

Load
Pasaload
Mobile Number
Then enter the recipient number.
Then enter the amount to send.

You will then get a text message back telling you to text the word YES back. Do that, and the transfer will go through, and you will be charged 1 peso.

Load Denominations must be: 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 100 or 200
No other amounts are allowed.

Try to Pasaload of 27, using 808, and you get this:

How long will an unused SIM card last on the Smart network

The SMART Prepaid GSM service shall be PERMANENTLY DISCONNECTED if the subscriber fails to load another SMART Prepaid Call and Text Card within 120 days after the last card balance has been completely consumed.

SMART shall not cause the reconnection of a PERMANENTLY DISCONNECTED SMART Prepaid GSM service.

Mobile numbers associated with the disconnected SMART Prepaid SIM Cards cannot be reacquired.

A new SMART Prepaid SIM PACK must be purchased to avail of the SMART Prepaid GSM service.

This will have a different mobile number. Requests for a change of mobile number are not allowed.

Smart Bro Broadband SIM – Should it cost 50 php or is really 150 php ?

In Angeles City, Pampanga at least TWO shops are selling the Smart Bro Broadband SIM for 150 pesos (One Hundred and Fifty Peso) each, even though it has P50 marked on it. They both gave the same reason; that the p50 is the wholesale price, the price they pay!!

The SMART website quotes the price as:

I went to SM Clark, and bought one there, for only P50 …

It seems that the phone card sales shop outside JJ Supermarket wanted to make an extra P100 profit from me. As did the shop opposite. Maybe they are under the same management ?

The answer is “not in an easy one step move”.

A SmartBro prepaid Broadband Load CANNOT be loaded directly onto a normal Smart Buddy Sim card.

If you have a SmartBro Prepaid Broadband load card, and need to use it on a normal SIM, then you NEED to load it to a SmartBro SIM card first and then use Pasaload to transfer it to the SIM that you want it on.

This information is valid at 28 Oct 2014, as I just tried it.

Now I need to BUY an Broadband SIM to use my P300 SIM load.
