The  Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is held annually every February.

The 18^th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta was held on February 21 to 24, 2013 at the Clark Freeport Zone.

The 2014  Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta has been cancelled.

The 19th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is scheduled for February 12-15, 2015.

1st Philippine Friendship Balloon Festival

The 1st “Philippine Friendship Balloon Festival”, organised by the Department of Tourism, will be held on April 10th to 14th, but NOT at Clark airbase.  The organisers expect about 15 to 20 hot air balloonists from different countries to participate in the festival in April.

It has been stated that the location for this alternative event will be held at Brgy. Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga.

The official Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta organisers are refusing to be involved with this event citing safety concerns.

The new location in Lubao will be in a 250-hectare property where a world-class theme park and championship golf course is under construction. The same venue has currently a facility considered to be the largest wakeboard park in Southeast Asia.

The PIBF 2014 will still be a 4-day event on April 10-13, 2014 where hot air balloon flights are expected to fly out at 5:00 am. Other activities for the event include night glow, wakeboarding, kite flying, live bands, street dancing, cultural presentation, arts and crafts demonstration, cook-off competition, as well as a car show.

What is a Ladies Drink in a Girly Bar ?

Many people may not know this to begin with, but a Ladies drink is NOT just a drink that a lady drinks.

A ladies drink in a Girly bar is a drink that you buy for one of the girls that works in that bar, it is NOT the same as a drink that you buy for a lady that comes into the bar with you.

Example:

You and a lady friend enter a bar, you both have San Mig Light, and the cost is 120 pesos per drink.

You then ask one of the dancing girls to join you at the table, and she orders a San Mig Light too. But the cost of her San Mig is 300 pesos charged to you.

Why the difference ?  Well, the girl will get about 100 pesos for that. That is how many of them increase their meager earnings from the bar.  The rest goes to the bar as their way of making a better profit, after all, entry is free, and you get the entertainment value of watching scantily clad girls either dancing or not.

How Much Does a Girl Earn in a Girly Bar ?

Not much is the simple answer to that question, but it can be increased depending on their popularity with customers.

Many bars in Angeles City, one of the main areas with Girly Bars, will pay their dancers about 200 pesos per day, for a long shift, 8 or more hours.

That is the basic pay just for being there and moving a bit on stage.

Those that move a bit more than average, in time to the music, stand a chance of being asked to join a customer at his table, and then may benefit from a share of the cost of drinks that are bought from them.  This can be 100 pesos per drink going to the girl.

A way to earn another 1,000 pesos or so, is if the customer wants to take them out of the bar, and he pays the bar about 2,400 +/-.  This is shared with the girl.  What does the girl have to do for this?  Well, commonly just accompany the customer on bar hopping and such like.  Some do more. some do NOT.  Nothing more is compulsory. But who knows what happens with private individuals after that.

So, what can they earn?

It may be as low as just 200 pesos per day ($5 at Apr 2014), if they do not attract any attention.

But it could add up to 1,500 pesos  ($38 at Apr 2014) if this scenario happened:

The girl sits with 3 customers during an evening, and has 3 drinks,
then is taken out of the bar to join the customer going around other bars.

This is not a common occurrence though, as many will get no more than the basic 200 pesos, per day.
