How much is the Overstaying Fee for Tourists in the Philippines?
Most Tourists to the Philippines are allowed to stay for 30 days before needing to apply for a Visa. The first Tourist Visa extension is the initial extension of twenty-nine (29) days, taking the visit up to 59 days.
This is commonly followed by a two month extension, although some Bureau of Immigration offices allow a 6 month extension.
If a person stay in the Philippines without a Valid Visitor Visa, then penalties are applied, and added to the unpaid Visa fees.
These combined penalties and fees can add up over time and can be something like the following figures:
I have calculated the following approximate costs for overstay payments including Visa Fees, ACR cards and Penalties.
Pesos:
4,310 From One day to One Month Overstay (Updated Sept 2017)
6,000 Total for between One and Two Months Overstay (Updated July 2018)
13,000 Total for Up to Three Month Overstay
15,000 Total for Up to Four Month Overstay
17,000 Total for Up to Five Month Overstay
18,000 Total for Up to Six Months Overstay
20,000 Total for Up to Seven Month Overstay
22,000 Total for Up to Eight Month Overstay
24,000 Total for Up to Nine Month Overstay
26,000 Total for Up to Ten Month Overstay
28,000 Total for Up to Eleven Month Overstay
30,000 Total for Up to Twelve Months Overstay
60,000 Total for Up to Two Years Overstay
90,000 Total for Up to Three Years Overstay
120,000 Total for Up to Four Years Overstay
150,000 Total for Up to Five Years Overstay
180,000 Total for Up to Six Years Overstay
210,000 Total for Up to Seven Years Overstay
240,000 Total for Up to Eight Years Overstay
270,000 Total for Up to Nine Years Overstay
300,000 Total for Up to Ten Years Overstay
450,000 Total for Up to Fifteen Years Overstay
Note: These are approximate costs. Immigration will determine the exact cost when you visit their office.
A reasonable ‘estimate’ can be made by calculating 3,000 pesos for every month of Overstay. Or about 30,000 for each year.
These figures are approximate calculations based on 2016 fees. They may reduce the cost if they base it on the actual fees dues for older years, which may be less than the 2016 fees.
Charges can also be higher in some cases, such as one example in the comments below:
Pesos:
79,500 For a 19 months overstay.
Financial Penalties for Visa Overstay in the Philippines:
The minimum penalties appear to be:
- All Visa Extension Fees not previously paid.
- Fine for Overstaying – (additional) Php 500.00 per month
- Motion for Reconsideration for Overstaying – (additional) Php 500.00
I have read that the Overstay fee for just a few days would be about 4,000 pesos.
This would be the 3,030 peso first Visa Extension fee + Overstay Fees. (2015 fees)
If the Overstay is for over one month, but less than two months, then I would guess that the fee would be closer to 12,000 peso, made up as follows:
3,030 pesos – First Visa Extension fee
7,340 pesos – Next Visa Extension fee plus the ACR-i card fee
1,000 pesos – Fine for Overstaying (2 months)
500 pesos – Motion for Reconsideration for Overstaying
If the Overstay is for just over one year, then I would guess that the fee would be closer to 35,000 peso, PLUS possible DEPORTATION. The fee would be made up as follows (assume figures for 13 months):
3,030 pesos – First Visa Extension fee
22,490 pesos – Six x 2 month Visa Extension fees plus the ACR-i card fee
6,000 pesos – Fine for Overstaying (12 months)
500 pesos – Motion for Reconsideration for Overstaying
plus maybe one ACR-i card renewal fee
That is my guess, based on the actual costs for Normal Visas last year. If anyone has paid an Overstay Fee, please give details in the comments box below, showing the date and the fee paid and the total days overstayed. Thank you.
The Official Statement for Visa Extensions is:
Foreigners admitted under Section 9 (a) of the Philippine Immigration Act (PIA) of 1940, as amended, or Executive Order No. 408, as amended, may extend their authorized stay every two (2) months for a total stay of not more than:
– a) Twenty-four (24) months for visa-required nationals; and
– b) Thirty-six (36) months for non-visa required nationals.
The said periods shall be counted from the date of applicant’s latest recorded arrival.
Overstaying Foreigners in the Philippines
Foreigners who have overstayed for twelve (12) months or less but have been in the country beyond the maximum allowable period already may be permitted to update their stay with order to leave the country within fifteen (15) calendar days therefrom and their names may be included in the Bureau’s blacklist upon the discretion of the Commissioner; Provided that, the Commissioner, in the exercise of sound judgment, may allow such foreigners to update and extend their stay taking into consideration their Filipino lineage, medical condition, minority and other analogous circumstances.
Foreigners who have overstayed for more than twelve (12) months regardless if their stay is within the maximum allowable period or those found to be overstaying by virtue to a complaint or Mission Order regardless of the period shall be referred for deportation.

I arrived here in the Philippines during the heat of the covid 19 pandemic which seemed like everyday a lockdown, I wanted to extend my visa but was unable to travel 5 hours away due to lockdowns and being told I would have to quarinetine for 14 there and once I got home which was insane! I have been here for 14 months expired visa I want to pay the fines fees and bring my visa up to date! I went with an online visa service which turned out to be a scam they scanned me for 60k peso no visa lying bastards so now I learn my visa expired I’m so paranoid that I’ve thought about kayaking from Palawan to the tip of Malaysia lol but I need to know can I just pay the fines and leave I don’t want to stay I want to leave this hell hole…ive been robbed scammed used and Im so fustrated !
I am pretty sure they are normally lenient during the COVID times, so you need to get to an office when you can, and sort it out.
I did read that you need to apply for an extension within 30 days after the lockdown is lifted. Otherwise normal rules apply, fines etc.
That should mean you just pay the fines, and leave.
I also suggest reading this guide on leaving: https://www.philippineairlines.com/en/covid-19/departingfromtheph
No more quarantine measures, just mainly the vaccine to fly out now. Go talk to immigration, they are pretty understanding. I think you can plead your case if you show the receipt for the online scam to them. Also request a reconsideration for your visa to be updated. You will need to pay overstay fees but you should have time to plan an exit. I would not fear them, just be honest and they should work with you to help you exit. If you have no money, you can declare indigent status. In that case go to your country’s embassy first. Good luck.
Hi admin,
I m from Nepal and working in Dubai currently.. i already visited Philippines twice but I stay 21 days only bcoz I read the articles that it’s only 21 days free visa for Nepali, just today I noticed that in my passport both times the immigration officer put stamp for 30 days.. can I stay 30 days in Philippines this time .. kindly advice . Thanks
If an immigration officer gave you 30 days, then you have 30 days.
Hi admin. My son was born in the Philippines but foreign passport holder. His 6 months old now. And this coming October were going to India. Is he overstaying already? Do he need to pay for penalty? And how much it is?
You will need to go to a Bureau of Immigration and update a visa for your child, and when get the ECC so that he is allowed to leave the Philippines. You should do this immediately.
Payment about: 18,000 Total for Up to Six Months Overstay
Admin,

Hi admin my brother has been in the Philippines for 6 years without paying immigration but now wants to come home
To the UK but can’t afford the immigration fines and fees, how can he leave the Philippines and come back to the UK?
The normal suggestion for this is to beg and borrow from friends and relatives. It would be somewhere about £2,600 he would need, maybe someone at home can help him.
His Embassy may be able to assist, although no guarantees on that.
Has he been to Immigration and found out the exact cost yet? If so, what happened at Immigration?
Hi my partner is ban for 1 year to enter in the philippines because of over staying, and have a fine of 50,000 pesos to be paid upon arrival in the airport immigration after 1 year if he comes back, there’s a rumor that they don’t accept payments in the airport immigration and advise him to fly back home.. My question is, is this true or there is a right legal process to pay the 50k in order for him to enter in the Philippines..
I would suggest you contact your local Philippines Embassy regarding payment of the penalty. In your situation I would also apply for a Visa before booking flights. Do NOT rely on getting the visa free entry after having been banned.
My friend is from India he is staying here now for 5 years how much is the penalty he should pay if he want to go back
150,000 Total for Up to Five Years Overstay
What are the procedure for that. Where I must go. How many days it will take to process. Is it allowed me to continue the stay here after paying. Bcoz I have family here
150thousand is the exact fine I need to pay or they have any discounts
It is an approximate figure.
You need to go to your nearest Bureau of Immigration, and pay the visas fees and penalties there. It could take a day or two, as the ECC is also needed, and my experience with that has been to have to come back after 24 hours to collect it.
Many people in the past have arrived at the airport, been refused boarding to the plane, and sent to the Manila Bureau of Immigration. Having to rebook a flight a few days later.
Is it allowed to come back Philippines again or it will be a life time ban
A 12 month blacklisting is more common for those who overstay for over 12 months.

Hi admin
Am a student and i exit but i had a emergency -my dad pass away so now my student visa has expired while am in my country ghana .am planning to go back to sch probably 26 of september will there be any penalties ,do i have to enter as tourist or what can i do .
There would be no penalties for overstaying with no visa, as you are not overstaying.
However, you will need to get a new visa.
I would assume you can enter as a tourist and then sort out the student visa, or arrange it before you travel, by contacting your local Philippine Embassy. This is not something that I know much about, and would suggest asking your local Philippine Embassy.
Hi admin.
I have a friend US citizen. He’s been the philippines for 14 years, he didn’t know how to do, but he have a proof that he is US citizen. Is there anything you can do? Because any job he applied he rejects him from being an alien.
Has he got a current valid visa that allows him to work in the Philippines. If not, he can’t work, and faces deportation if caught.
Being a US citizen has no bearing on this.
Since he was left in the philippines for 14 years (overstayed i guess), is there any way to get him back what he belong in somewere in america? Because we tried to help him
Hi admin my friend is american citizen he is more than 15 years over staying in phillipines what will we do? How much penalty he needs to pay? Thank you 🙂
In the region of: 440,000 Total for Up to Fifteen Years Overstay
He needs to go to an immigration office.
Foreigners who have overstayed for more than twelve (12) months regardless if their stay is within the maximum allowable period or those found to be overstaying by virtue to a complaint or Mission Order regardless of the period shall be referred for deportation.
i am staying in the ph under student visa (it expires on feb 2019) but because i got my passport changed just few months ago, we accidentally got tourist visa stamped on our last arrival in the ph on june 2018. so i have about 1-2 months overdue with the accidental tourist visa stamp. what will be the possible consequences for this? would we still need to pay the fine? thank you
Hi Admin.
I am a Foreginer and My son was born in Cebu City on July 11 2017 and is 1 year old 1 month now. I would like to know how much would his penalty fee be to be paid before exiting the country.
Hi. My bf is overstaying for almost 2months now. We got plans to go abroad asap but we have not applied for tourist visa since we do not know if we still need to downgrade his student visa and get a 2 month extention while waiting for the downgrade and possible extension.
If he is currently without any visa, he runs the risk of being deported, and blacklisted. People should never let a visa expire. He should go to immigration now, and get it sorted before it becomes a problem. They will be able to advise what he should do.
Hi admin , my baby is born here in CEBU CITY and im processing his emergency travel documents to travel back to my country. He is 1 year old now and I would like to know how much would it cost for his penalty payments(over stay) please reply as soon as possible. Thankyou
We stayed in US for about 5 years. Two of our kids were born there but we failed to file record of their birth with the Philippine consulate. We did not become US citizens. We came back to the Philippines 10 years ago.
How can we apply our kids dual or Filipino citizenship?
What is the process and how much would be the penalty or cost approximately?
hi admin
I have an australian boyfriend and he overstay for 3days here in philippines cause his flight will be on the 23rd of august. How much will he pay for the penalty
It should be between 3,000 and 4,000 pisos. Assuming he has only been in the Philippines for 1 month.
If longer, then he may need an ACR-I card at an extra 2,500.
He needs to go to an immigration office quickly and get it sorted.
Hello Admin, My son who is American citizen by blood but was born here in the Philippines visited me and stay here from July 1 until now. He is going backto US on Augus.23 but the problem is i was not able to apply him for extension. What should I do to avoid any problem in the airport.
You will need to get an EEC from immigration before you leave. You should go to an immigration office today, with all the documents and sort it out.
https://www.in-philippines.com/requirements-for-an-ecc-exit-clearance-certificate
Who needs an ECC Emigration Clearance Certificate or Exit Clearance Certificate
An Emigration Clearance Certificate [ECC] is needed when Foreign Passport Holders are leaving the Philippines after a stay of 6 months or more.
Any child, born in the Philippines, but travelling on a Foreign passport, NEEDS an ECC to leave the Philippines. A notice to this effect is on display at a Bureau of Immigration office.
Hello Everyone,
I am an Indian student in Philippines who graduated from pre-med/BS Biology from University of Northern Philippines this last April and my Student Visa is expired already on May 22nd and now I am going to change the college from University of Northern Philippines to AMA School of Medicine in Makati, manila. That’s my visa is expired for the last 83days.So,please let me know how much fine do the need to pay now and if there is any extra fine when it exceeds three month.
Thanks in Advance
A 3 month overstay is about 13,000, for tourists.
Yes, the amount you need to pay gets larger for every month, or part month that you are illegally in the country. You also run the risk of being deported, if immigration decide to do that.
I have heard that student visa overstayers may have to pay higher figures, but few seem to want to share that information with us.
There was one recently, where I calculated 60,000 based on a visitor visa overstay cost, but he was told 120,000 by his school.
Maybe student visa overstayers pay twice as much. Best to keep the visa up to date, and never let them expire.
Hi admin!I’m married to thai national and im pregnant now,I want to deliver my baby in the Philippines.I want to know what is his citizenship in birth certificate? And do we oblige to report his birth to Thailand embassy.?
Your child may be a Dual Citizen, Filipino from being born to a Philippine Mother, and Thai being born to a Thai father. (Assuming that Thai law allows that)
A dual citizen by birth is a natural born Filipino born in a foreign country allowing/accepting dual nationality/dual citizenship; thus all that person (or parent/s of the person) needs to do is report the birth.
PHILIPPINES: The Philippine adheres to the principle of Jus sanguinis (right of blood) which is the legal principle that, at birth, an individual acquires the nationality of his/her natural parent/s. http://immigration.gov.ph/faqs/citizenship
THAILAND: Children born overseas to at least one Thai parent are eligible for Thai citizenship, regardless of the place of birth of that parent.
There is often some confusion about the eligibility of a child born to a Thai parent overseas. The easy answer is that a child born to a Thai citizen, whether in Thailand or outside of Thailand, is automatically born a Thai citizen. (http://thaicitizenship.com/thai-citizenship-when-born-overseas)
Thailand also allows Dual Citizenship (http://www.thaicitizenship.com/thai-dual-citizenship)
Hi admin.. My 4 years old authestic son is born here in Kuwait Pakistan/Philippines parents.. I send him in Cebu, Philippines Last october
2016 with a tourist visa because of his autism..What is the estimate fine for over staying.. My marriage is registered to Philippine embassy and report of birth is done as well.. I have taken philippine passport before for my son but we cancel it. and now im confused of the status if my son now.what should we do now. Please help.. thanks
If he is a Philippine citizen, then he has a right to stay in the Philippines, with no issues. As a holder of a Philippine passport he could enter and leave the Philippines on that passport, with minimal issues.
The only time it is an issue is if he wants to leave the Philippines, and use a foreign passport. At that point he is a foreign citizen leaving the Philippines and must be treated as such.
A 2 year overstay travelling on a foreign passport is about 60,000 pesos.
Hello admin…my student was expired at last year octomber(2017) I did not renew it till now 2018 august, the school wants me to downgrade it before enroll again on second semester how will it cost including the penalties, its almost 10 months from now I over stay…..thanks
You are looking at about 30,000 pesos, from the information on tourist visa overstays.
hi my American bf overstayed here in the Philippines for about 3 and half years now, how much is the expected penalties and fines? i know an immigration officer and said it will be about 250,000 pesos to get it renewed or fixed. according to your data it will only cost 150,000. so how is that? thanks
That is one of the problems in the Philippines, nothing is certain.
The figures quoted are per the Immigration website, but as the page says:
“Charges can also be higher in some cases, such as one example in the comments below:
Pesos:
79,500 For a 19 months overstay.”
It seems that Immigration can increase fines and penalties if they wish to, especially if the person wishes to stay or come back to the Philippines, and does not want to be arrested, then deported and banned.
It would be handy if others who have paid these fines, let us know what they are currently paying and for how long they overstayed without a visa.
Please I need the requirements for paying my student visa penalty fees and renewal. Which nessary documentary required should I attached to make my payments.
My 9f visa expired since april how much do I need to pay to renew my visa, Can the good admin advised me on the latest fees updated.
Hi admin
My sister came in with tourist visa and stayed for a month. She should have left before July 31st, 2018 but due to medical situation, she didnt. She has overstayed for 2days now.
How much would be the overstayed fee??
She needs to go to a Bureau of Immigration and renew ASAP, and explain the situation. It should be about 4,000 pesos to extend for up to 29 days after expiry.
my bf is syrian we have a dauther already he has over stay for 2 years he apply before for refugee but he denided he was under doj about 1 and half year and his passport lost what we will go to do and how much we will pay for the penalty
You need to go to a Bureau of Immigration and explain the situation, and arrange for the visa to be done. A two year overstay is about 60,000 pesos.
Dear Admin, I came here as a tourist and i was given 30 days stay in the Philippines but i want to prolong my stay for a while as i have found a girl I want to marry in the future and also. I want to stay for only three more months, what do i do with that?
You need to go to a Bureau of Immigration before the 30 days ends, and ask for an extension to your visa.
hi admin. have a good day. i just married my chinese husband last year and we have son. the problem is he is overstaying here for five yrs now. can he apply for a permanent residence visa? and how much would be the fines for his overstaying. or maybe he will be blacklisted and deported. i hope you can help me.
You are looking at about 150,000 pesos to bring the visa up to date, with penalties.
He risks being deported and blacklisted. You should approach immigration on his behalf, and see what options they can give you for a marriage visa.
Hello, my husband (Canadian Citizen) visa expired last april 9,2017 and we are planning to pay for our dues first week of September. How much do you think our dues will be? and after paying will his name be put on blacklist? We are married and with a 6month old baby. I hope to get a reply soon. Thank you.
I would think you would be looking at about 45 to 50 thousand pisos.
After a one year stay, without a valid visa, does open up the possibility of deportation and blacklisting. Not just the unpaid visa costs and penalties.
You should consider looking into marriage visa options. Maybe discuss this at immigration, and see if there is any benefit, in getting around deportation and blacklisting.
I am an overstay for 5 years. I’m an American citizen. I was born in the Philippines, and my mother was also born in the Philippines. I have all of the proper documentation needed to apply for Recognition as a Filipino Citizen. Which is what the BI recommended me to do. I’m living in dumaguete. I was told by the BI that I can only apply in Manila. My concern is… Will I have any problems flying from here to Manila due to my overstay? One of the requirements to apply is a BI Clearance Certificate.
Hi admin .. I am a native born .. I have ACR, it expired july 2014 .. Went to US in 2011 ..now im here in Philippines, what requirements do I need to Renew my ACR? Thank you
I am a naturalized US citizen,I came to the Phil March 3 2017 and my US passport was stamped to return back March 3 2018.I applied my dual citizenship and was approved before March 3 2018.I asked a Bureau of Immigration Officer if I can stay in the Phil.after March 3,2018 and she said I can stay indefinetely as long as my Certificate of Identification is approved.I’ll be applying for my Phil.passport before going back to US.My question is will I be subjected for overstaying? Please I need your help I’m 71 years old now
I suggest that you check that with the Bureau of Immigration. They have said that you can stay in the country, and that will be based on you having a Philippine passport.
If you had a 12 month Balikbayan stamp in your foreign passport, and you leave the Philippines using that passport, then normally you would be liable for overstay and visa costs calculated from the 3rd March 2018.
You can travel on a Philippine passport, without incurring any visa costs or overstay penalties. But if you travel to some countries, that need an entry visa such as Canada, then you may face problems if you do not have such a visa in your Philippine passport.
Some people use the Philippine passport to travel to a non visa required country, and then fly to the US, Canada, UK, Australia, etc., from that country, with their foreign passport, with no issues of that nature.
My name is mercedes,i was born by a filipino mother to a Canadian father. So that makes me a Canadian, but mother bring me to philippines when i was just one year old in 1995,since then i have been living in the philippines and today i am 24years old .but the time has come for me to go back to canada bcos of my father and to positively improve my family condition.but i am facing the problem of over staying .so they ask us to apply for the recognition of filipino citizen.we have all the documents from the checklist except my canadian expired passport bio page and my mum philippines expired bio page which part of the requirements.but i have renew my canadian passport at the canada embassy in manila while mum she has not renew her passport since she did not plan to travel out of the country again.
but my mum expired philippines passport and my old Canadian expired passport has the details [ stamp] of arrival in the philippines in september 22,1995 and this detail on our passports is need for our travel verification and evaluation for the recognition of filipino citizens.but we have the picture of my mum while she gave birth to me in canada and also the hospital card with her name on it while she was admitted for my labouring.
pls what are we to do ,what are the option for me to do.can we summit the expired passports along with the other documents or not .we really need this and the fine for overstaying is too much,we can not afford it.what has keep us for so long before we applied for recognition of filipino citizen is bcos of our ignorant and penniless
our expired passport is available which has the details of our arrival in the philippines from canada and my mum passport was also issued in canada, please can we summit the expired passports or not, since it is necessary for them to check our travel history.
please what can we do……..
thank you for ur anticipating cooperation
That all looks complex. Only the relevant Department will be able to confirm what documents etc., they will accept.
You should take everything you have to them, and see what they can do.
Hi I have overstvay 8 years. I can pay and am just affraid to be black listed as I have a son here and take care of him and everyone else in Great manners.. what can I do?
Eight years being an illegal alien does put you at high risk of being deported and blacklisted from future entry to the Philippines.
You will need to pay for every visa that you have not paid for, plus the fines. That is about 250,000 pesos.
My advise would be to get your partner to go to Immigration and ask on your behalf, to see what the options are. I am not sure if you can apply for a marriage visa, and try to get around it that way. Someone did once mention considering that, but they didn’t comment on what actually happened.
I see that does not sounds very good to me.. :
Hello ..I am a student and i had a student visa from sep 2015 til sep 2016 and it expired …I havent renew it till now jul 2018 but i went to school between that time my visa was expired ..How much I should probably pay ? please it is important …because the school is tilling me 120k peso ..which I think is too much and out of my budget …please answer me ASAP ..thanks
You have a two year overstay as illegal. That would be about 60,000 pesos for a visitor visa with penalties.
However, as a student it may be different. You have no choice biut to check with the nearest Bureau of Immigration to get the exact figure.
I am aware that education providers can do the visa for you, but not sure what they charge extra.
Hi we hold a British passport my children’s are staying in the Philippines for 45days(both under 18). And I will be staying for 36days..how much would the penalty be
If you renew the visas on time, before they expire within that 30 days, there is no penalty.
Most people get a 30 day free period and would then renew during that 30 days, for a cost of 3,030 pesos for another 29 days, giving them 59 days in total.
If they wish to stay longer, they renew again, commonly for two months, at a cost of about 4,400 pesos. They can keep renewing for up to 24 or 36 months, depending on their nationality.
If they do not renew, then they must pay those visa renewal fees, plus penalty charges, before they are allowed into immigration on departure. In those cases they are often told to leave the airport, and go to a Bureau of Immigration and sort out their visa before returning to try to leave again. At that point they may be told that they cannot return to the Philippines again, ie: Blacklisted.
Overstaying the first 30 days, by up to an extra 29 days, will incur the visa cost of 3,030 plus another 1,000 pesos. This penalty increases for every month of overstay, and is added to all unpaid visa costs, and must be paid before leaving the country.
My daughter has given a 30 day stay. Do they always give only 30 days for tourists? She arrived june 21 but her ticket to go back US is on July 23rd. I wish I had known it sooner: How much does she pay?
Yes. It is normally a 30 day visa free period for most people, although some nationalities only get 14 days.
You need to do a visa extension at a bureau of immigration office.
The cost was 3,030 pesos the last time I looked, if done before the visa expires, or an extra 1,000 if done late.
1 day overstay on 59 day visa. US senior citizen couple that extended our visas before 30 day expired by 29 days for total of 59 days. Our flight out of Manila only flies 1 day a week, and we got confused on days and mistakenly booked it, nonrefundable now, for day 60. We will have a 1 day overstay, but to extend looks like it will cost over $140usd each (or more adding the ACR card, etc.) which seems very steep and spends our travel budget a bit. Understand preferred foolproof method is to extend beforehand at a local BOI office. However, have read instances of airport officer overlooking a less than 24 hour overstay, and if not, paying at airport for visa fee plus penalty in this case 500php for 1 day, plus 500php for reconsideration. That may be worth taking our chances to see if they will waive us on.
Does anyone have experience with a 1 day overstay being oerlooked at airport or not, and if not, allowing payment at airport for a 1 day overstay past the 59 days? I appreciate your thoughts on our odds, grey hair and all!
Unfortunately I can’t answer your exact situation.
I have heard of people just one day over, paying at the airport, but that was 1 day over the initial 30 days. They paid about 4,000 pesos, which was a one month extension plus penalties.
My worry would be if they refuse, and send you back to the Manila immigration office. You would miss the flight, and need to re-book a week later, (you say only 1 flight per week). New flights plus another weeks accommodation cost could add up a lot.
The Philippines immigration people can sometimes be very hard on people.
My husband is an american citizen he has been staying here for 2year & 3mos.how much does he need to pay in the immigration?he wasn’t able to get back to us immediately because he has to arrange the papers of our kids to u.s embassy..thanks hope for the immediate reply..
Assuming no visas have been paid for in that time, it would be about 70,000 to 90,000 plus the probability of deportation and a future ban, due to staying in the country illegally for so long.
Hello, i have an overstay 7 months, i would like to know what approximately the total cost between the penalties and the unpaid visa please
It should be about 21,000 pesos in total.
Hello I am a U.S citizen I have been here for 8 months, I thought I was able to obtain a Visa any time during my stay before I left. I am now afraid that I was wrong. Me and and 2 year old son are going back home on 8AUG and definitely want to come back to the Phil. I did not apply for a Visa at all. What are my options?
You need to go to immigration as soon as possible. It may cost around 24,000. Immigration do have the option to ban future visits, but it isn’t always done.
Hi admin. Hope you’re doing well. Good day. My American husband has a visa up to 30 days and it will expire this July 22. We forgot to renew it though he will be going back to the US on July 28. Do you have idea how much will it cost us for 6days overstay? Or can we still go to the immigration and pay for penalties or just pay it at the airport on the day of his departure? I appreciate the help. Thank you.
You are looking at just over 4,000 as it will be a months renewal plus late penalties.
Best to go to immigration as soon as possible.
I have stayed for 1 month and 22 days so how much am I expecting to pay coz I want to extend the visa also
6,000 Total for between One and Two Months Overstay (Updated July 2018)

can i apply a Philippine passport for my son in the Philippines after reporting his birth to the philippine consulate los angeles even if he overstayed already?
If he is a Philippine citizenship, then yes you can.
what if i cannot pay the penalty? since i cannot work in the philippines i will not be able to generate fund to pay the penalty. can i make a promissory note to pay once i have the money?
If you can’t afford the visa they will say you should not be there. They do have the option to detain you. Some people arrange something with their embassy, to help in arranging loans or funds to pay the visas and penalties.
A statement from the Australian Government regarding the Philippines: You may be jailed, fined or deported and may also be banned from entering the Philippines in the future. Ensure you have a valid visa throughout your stay. smartraveller.gov.au/…/philippines
Anyone who does not have a valid visa faces that possibility.
Some statements by Bureau of Immigration officers:
My boyfriend stayed in manila for 1 month and 4 days then he cost 6,000 thousand pesos pyment.
Hey, I have a friend who is a citizen of Philippines, they travelled to Philippines from Finland with her 2 year old daughter who is born in EU and has papers in EU. They applied for dual citizenship in Philippines but the processing takes so long that they have to get back to EU before the child’s papers in Philippines are ready.
Will they get in trouble because the daughter has no phillipines Visa, and they have stayed for about 4 months. (Way past the 30days allowed for foreigners)
Most children of a Philippine parent would get a 12 month Balikbayan visa. Have you checked the passport?
Otherwise, you need to get the original entry visa renewed. That is normally required anyway, even if dual citizenship is granted.
Hi hello admin.i have a baby stayed in philippines for 14 months she got dual citizenship.but my problem is when we arrived in manila i didn’t show her philippines passport i didn’t say that my baby is dual.she got balikbayan visa 1year only.now she over stayed 2 months.did i pay penalty?i plan to get my baby again back to korea.thanks and more power
The easy way maybe to just go and get a visa renewal done for the period from the expiry of the Balikbayan visa, and keep that up to date. Being just 2 months over, with that situation, it should not be too much trouble. Maybe between 6 and 13 thousand pesos for visa with penalty.
I understand that a visitor Visa to South Korea is free for a Filipino. You should check that and see if it is.
If so, your child could leave the Philippines using her Philippine passport, with a Visa for South Korea. On arrival in South Korea she uses the South Korean passport for entry.
But, I am not sure if a return ticket is needed doing it that way.
If it can be done that way, then there is no issue with any overstay, ie: as a Philippine citizen leaving the country on a Philippine passport. Not a foreigner.
Hi, my bf wants to stay in phil, how must we need to pay if he stay 36 months?
He just needs to renew his visa every 2 or 6 months. A six month visa costs about 12,000 pesos. But can be less. https://www.in-philippines.com/6-month-tourist-visa-for-philippines/
My husband already has TRV for 1 year, and last Friday, July 06, 2018. We supposed to extend it for 2 years, but our cash in hand was not enough and his Visa expired on the same day July 06, 2018. How much penalty do we have to pay?
It has only just expired, so maybe only a one to two thousand penalty on top of the normal fees to renew.
Are there penalties for the wife and children of overstayin alien with trv visa
No, only for the Foreign passport holder that has no valid visa.
